In 2018, The Macallan launched the first release in their Concept Series a limited annual edition that celebrates visionary thinkers who challenge conventional norms. Concept No.1 draws inspiration from surrealist art, with its label portraying The Macallan’s Six Pillars in a surrealist style. This expression was matured first in Sherry Oak casks, then spent an equal amount of time in ex-Bourbon casks. The second release in The Macallan Concept Series, Concept No.2, was unveiled at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes, France. Crafted by Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner, this expression reflects his dual passions for whisky and music. It was matured in a combination of Sherry-seasoned American oak casks, Miguel Martín Sherry casks, and ex-Bourbon barrels. The third and final release in The Macallan Concept Series, Concept No.3 beautifully fuses whisky and design through a creative collaboration with pioneering graphic designer David Carson. This strikingly presented edition was matured in a combination of first-fill sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrels.
